How to be Content (Part 2)

Illustration Book | 2013

Do less for a better world.

Overview

This is a class project where we were asked to…

Develop a solution that clearly communicates the “How to” process of doing less for a better world. The work must suggest the individual hand or the existence of the designer.

See Part 1 of the project where I transformed the same steps into an interactive pamphlet.

The Problem

We live in a time of abundance, but why are we still dissatisfied with what we have? I believe that reducing our desires and attachment to material goods can free ourselves from the prison we created in our minds and help us aquire inner peace.

The Solution: A Story Book

History has proven how powerful illustrations can be when it comes planting ideas into someone's mind. To effectively help those in need, I created a story book that utilized the power of illustration to invite the readers on a journey toward contentment.

The Book

Why are the characters so abstract?

If you look closely, you’ll notice that you are not able to identify the age, ethnicity, gender, or social status of the characters from the drawing. The intention is to help the readers to project themselves to the characters in the story, so they can go on a journey with the characters.
